Culture

A differentiating feature of leading organisations is the culture and values that support performance. Culture and values underpin not what organisations do, but how they do it.

Catalyst works with clients to facilitate sessions that help to define the existing culture and to determine attributes of the desired culture. A facilitated session will bring to light the barriers and levers to organisational / cultural effectiveness. Action plans must be developed to ensure that all aspects of the desired culture are introduced, delivered and measured in all facets of the organisation.

To measure actual and preferred culture Catalyst recommends the use of the OCI (Organisational Culture Index). Catalyst will work with the client to administer the diagnostic tool and then facilitate the results and action planning sessions.

The facilitated approach to OCI includes the following:

  • Determine the preferred operating culture
  • Understand causal factors
  • Measure the actual operating culture
  • Agree outcomes of culture change and the driving forces for cultural definition / change
  • Identify cultural change targets, i.e. areas of focus that will create significant inroads
  • Support and develop people around cultural change
  • Measure change and set new actions
